Two Indian crew members, Ankit Kumar and Sagar Chand, were injured after the tanker MT Chiron 7's bridge was hit by shrapnel near the Strait of Hormuz on Saturday.
The Chiron, carrying 17 Indians among its 24-member crew, was not directly targeted in the incident.
The crew, which includes nationals from Egypt, Bangladesh, Pakistan, and Iran, is safe, with no reported fatalities.
The tanker is currently heading for Sharjah, while shipping through the Strait of Hormuz remains restricted following recent US and Israeli attacks on Iran.
Earlier incidents involving Indian crew members have been reported, including two Indian-flagged vessels fired at while transiting the Strait.
