Karnataka Chief Minister Siddaramaiah's next move is expected to be revealed today, following a breakfast meeting with his deputy DK Shivakumar and cabinet colleagues.
According to Congress MLA Ashok K Pattan, Siddaramaiah 'might resign after 3pm on Thursday' after meeting with Governor Thawarchand Gehlot.
Pattan also stated that it was '100% likely' that Shivakumar may take over as the next Chief Minister.
The Congress leadership is weighing multiple options, including a cabinet structure with several Deputy CMs, in the event Siddaramaiah steps down.
Senior legislator RV Deshpande claimed that the Chief Minister had already told colleagues he had 'decided to resign'.
The speculation grew after marathon meetings in Delhi on Tuesday involving Siddaramaiah, Shivakumar, Congress President Mallikarjun Kharge, and other senior leaders.
The Congress has denied that a final decision has been taken, saying that any eventual decision would be 'in favour of Karnataka, not in favour of individuals'.
