Chennai, Tamil Nadu Minister for Health and Family Welfare, Dr Arunraaj, condemned the Governor's decision to depict Tamil poet-philosopher Thiruvalluvar in saffron attire at Lok Bhavan.
Dr Arunraaj stated that confining Thiruvalluvar's universal vision within a narrow identity amounts to belittling his global philosophy.
He pointed out that Thiruvalluvar's 'Tirukkural' provides a common code of life for all humanity, and that draping him in saffron robes is fundamentally wrong.
DMK leader Udhayanidhi Stalin also launched a scathing attack, targeting the Governor's mansion for repainting Thiruvalluvar in saffron and questioning the shift away from the state's traditional calendar.
