Tamil Nadu Polls: AIADMK Secures 167 Seats in NDA Alliance

AIADMK-led NDA will contest Tamil Nadu Assembly Elections with 167 seats, while BJP, PMK, and AMMK will contest for 27, 18, and 11 seats respectively. | India News

The National Democratic Alliance (NDA) in Tamil Nadu has finalized seat sharing for the upcoming assembly elections. AIADMK will contest for 167 seats, followed by BJP with 27, Pattali Makkal Katchi (PMK) with 18, and 11 seats to Amma Makkal Munnetra Kazhagam (AMMK) party.

The announcement was made by AIADMK general secretary Edappadi K Palaniswami at a press conference, attended by senior BJP leader Piyush Goyal, PMK leader Anbumani Ramadoss, and AMMK chief TTV Dhinakaran.

On the other hand, the Indian National Congress has announced that it will contest for 28 seats in alliance with the ruling DMK party of MK Stalin.

The Tamil Nadu Assembly Elections will be held in a single phase on April 23 for 234 seats, with counting of votes on May 4.

The main electoral showdown is expected between the DMK-led Secular Progressive Alliance (SPA) and the NDA-led by AIADMK with BJP and PMK as allies.
