The Tamil Nadu assembly polls will take place on April 23, with the results to be announced on May 4, as announced by the Election Commission on March 15.
The polls will be held in a single phase, covering all 234 seats in the state assembly.

The polls are expected to be a three-way contest between the DMK-Congress alliance, the AIADMK-BJP alliance, and the Tamilaga Vettri Kazhagam led by actor Vijay.
The key issues at the heart of the polls include rising crimes against women, failed poll promises, and the debt crisis.
The ruling DMK is focusing on its social welfare initiatives to secure a consecutive term, while the TVK has promised monthly financial assistance of ₹2,500 to women heads of households till 60 years of age, along with six free LPG cylinders.
