After the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) suffered a significant loss in the Tripura Tribal Areas Autonomous District Council (TTAADC) elections, Tripura Chief Minister Manik Saha has convened meetings to identify 'loopholes' and prepare for upcoming municipal and Nagar Panchayat elections.

The BJP's vote share increased by nearly eight percent compared to the previous election, but they emerged victorious in only four seats. The TIPRA Motha Party swept the TTAADC elections, sharply reducing the BJP's presence to four seats from eight in the previous tribal council polls.

CM Saha said that the BJP will take its party forward in indigenous-dominated areas and strengthen the identified loopholes in future. The party has already recorded a landslide victory in the Tripura civic polls held in 14 urban bodies in 2021.
