Prime Minister Narendra Modi and US President Donald Trump held a 40-minute phone conversation on April 14, discussing the West Asia war stalemate and the importance of keeping the Strait of Hormuz open and secure.

The phone call is the third between the two leaders this year, following talks on February 2 and March 24. Trump briefed Modi on the situation in West Asia, including the US blockade of Iranian ports.

Modi stated that they reviewed the progress of achieving bilateral cooperation in various sectors and stressed the importance of keeping the Strait of Hormuz open and secure.

The recent phone call comes at a crucial time, as face-to-face talks between Iran and the US failed to yield positive results over the weekend.
