A 25-year-old engineer, Hardik, has been arrested for allegedly stabbing his twin sister, Himshikha, over 40 times at their mother's home in Moradabad district.
According to reports, the siblings had a dispute over Hardik's relationship with a girl from another community, which their mother and sister had opposed.
Hardik, who was reportedly under stress and suffering from depression, allegedly turned on his sister with a knife, stabbing her multiple times.
He then wrapped her body in a blanket and drove to his mother's workplace to bring her home, where he attacked her as well after she raised an alarm upon seeing her daughter's body.
The mother, Neelima, survived the attack, but the sister was declared dead on arrival at the hospital.
