Ugandan Traveller in Bengaluru Tests Negative for Ebola

A 28-year-old woman from Uganda, who was isolated in Bengaluru after developing mild symptoms, has tested negative for Ebola.

The woman, who arrived in India on May 23, was moved to the State-run Epidemic Diseases Hospital in Indiranagar after officials detected signs of fatigue and mild symptoms.

The Union Ministry of Health and Family Welfare said no Ebola Virus Disease case had been confirmed in India, and the traveller remained stable.

As a precautionary measure, a repeat test will be conducted after 48 hours of observation.

The Centre is continuing surveillance and screening operations at designated entry points and across the public health system in coordination with the Karnataka government and other agencies.

Karnataka's Health Department has identified dedicated quarantine, isolation, and treatment facilities in Bengaluru and Mangaluru.
