Uttar Pradesh police have rescued a 17-year-old child and busted a gang allegedly involved in child trafficking in Hapur. Four accused have been arrested, with two more detained in a separate case in Bareilly.

According to DSP Varun Mishra, the gang was busted during an investigation launched to trace the missing child. The accused would target children of all ages and try to sell them.

Earlier, in Bareilly, two individuals accused of kidnapping a one-and-a-half-year-old child sustained injuries during an encounter with the police. The minor boy was rescued and returned to the family.

Police teams used CCTV surveillance and technical inputs to track down the accused in both cases. In the Bareilly case, two country-made pistols and live cartridges were recovered from the possession of the accused.
