The United States would support India's participation in efforts to end the war in West Asia, American ambassador to India Sergio Gor said on Tuesday.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi held a phone conversation with US President Donald Trump on Tuesday, where they discussed the situation in West Asia and the importance of keeping the Strait of Hormuz 'open and secure'.

Gor said it is up to India to decide if it wishes to take part in talks to end the conflict, adding that many other countries can be part of this process.
The US feels that 'many other countries' can be part of this process, as mentioned in an earlier report.
Gor told news agency PTI: 'That's a question for the Indian government. But from our side, the president has offered involvement around the world, as you have seen engagement happen.'
