Union Minister Kishan Reddy hailed 'Vande Mataram' as a powerful symbol of national unity and patriotism, which played a crucial role in India's fight for independence. Speaking at a photo exhibition in Hyderabad, he recalled how the song, composed by Bankim Chandra Chattopadhyay 150 years ago, rallied Indians against British rule and fostered the idea of 'Nation First.' The Minister highlighted the significance of the Vande Mataram movement, which was banned by the Nizam's government in 1938, but ultimately united people from all walks of life in their struggle against oppression. Reddy praised the bravery of students and intellectuals who made immense sacrifices during this period. As India marks the 150th anniversary of Vande Mataram, Reddy called on citizens to participate actively in nation-building and work towards creating a 'Viksit Bharat.' He emphasized the importance of this national anthem in shaping India's identity and inspiring patriotism among its people. The photo exhibition, organized by the Central Bureau of Communication, showcases rare photographs that reflect the spirit of Ek Bharat Shreshtha Bharat and the enduring significance of Vande Mataram. The exhibition aims to inspire future generations to work towards a stronger and more united India.
