Tamilaga Vettri Kazhagam (TVK) chief Vijay has announced the list of candidates for the upcoming assembly election. The actor-turned-politician will contest from two constituencies, Perambur and Tiruchirappalli East.
The upcoming poll on April 23 will mark Vijay's debut in parliamentary politics. Senior party leaders who have been given tickets include the general secretary, N. Anand, from T. Nagar, and the treasurer, P. Venkataramanan, from Mylapore.
The Tamil Nadu Assembly elections for all 234 constituencies are scheduled to be held on April 23, with vote counting set for May 4, as per the schedule announced by the Election Commission of India (ECI).
