In a significant shift in Tamil Nadu's political landscape, actor-turned-politician Vijay's party, TVK, is poised to make a strong impact in the upcoming assembly elections. According to Axis My India, TVK could win 98–120 seats, with Vijay emerging as the preferred choice for the next chief minister with 37% of the vote. However, other pollsters have projected more modest numbers for the party.

Most exit polls predict a second consecutive term for the incumbent MK Stalin-led DMK government, with seat projections ranging between 120 and 145. The AIADMK and its partners may win 65 to 80 seats. Vijay's rise to power could make him the third actor-turned-politician to rule Tamil Nadu, following the legacies of M G Ramachandran (MGR) and J Jayalalithaa.

Tamil Nadu has often seen its biggest cinema stars make the transition into politics, with film stars shaping public imagination, influencing ideology, and campaigning for political movements. A victory for Vijay would make him the next star-powered chief minister, following in the footsteps of MGR and Jayalalithaa.

The counting of votes will take place on May 4, and what lies ahead for TVK chief Vijay remains to be seen.
