Air-conditioned cabins, business class pushback seats, vegan leather, and a premium aesthetic look were among the extravagant amenities planned for two VIP boats worth over ₹3 crore each in Delhi.
The boats were intended for inspections of the river Yamuna by dignitaries, but the tender process has been cancelled following criticism and an inquiry launched into the tender.
Two senior officials involved in the procurement of the boats have been suspended, and the Delhi government has scrapped plans for the boats, labelling any future procurement as limited to essential functions of the department.
