Viral Video Sparks Outrage: 21-year-old Arrested for Brutal Cat Killing in Gujarat

Ahmedabad: A 21-year-old man has been arrested in connection with a viral video showing three people brutally killing a cat in the city's New Vadaj area. The incident, which occurred on December 21, was recorded by a local resident and sparked widespread outrage on social media. According to the police, the suspects were seen arriving at a vacant land parcel on a scooter, carrying a cat in a white sack. One of them slammed the sack on the ground, and the cat was then taken out and hit repeatedly with large stones, leading to its death. The prime suspect, identified as Rahul Dantani, a resident of Mahadevnagar in Vadaj, was arrested within hours of the FIR being registered. The police are still investigating the roles of the other two men seen in the video. The case has been registered under relevant provisions of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita and the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals Act. The police are examining CCTV footage from nearby areas and the viral video as part of the investigation.
