Kalita Majhi and Swati Khandoker, candidates from the Bharatiya Janata Party and Trinamool Congress respectively, are among six million voters in West Bengal whose eligibility to be part of the electoral roll is under adjudication.

According to officials of the Election Commission, claims of Khandoker and others are being investigated by court-appointed judicial officers.

The BJP has published the names of 255 candidates for the two-phased polls, with only one candidate's name under adjudication, while the ruling TMC has announced the names of 291 candidates, with many facing similar issues.

Murshidabad and Malda districts have the highest number of cases under adjudication, with 11,011,45 and 8,28,127 cases respectively.

Candidates like Bayron Biswas, Jakir Hossain, and Nur Alam from the TMC, and Unus Sarkar from the CPIM, are also facing similar issues.

The Election Commission has not commented on the allegations of a ploy to delete the names of genuine voters, but the BJP has accused the TMC of being scared of losing the battle due to the deletion of fake voters.
