Dr. Manik Saha Inaugurated : Modern Amenities Enhance Passenger Experience on Agartala-Deoghar Express

The Agartala-Deoghar Express train 15626/15625 has been equipped with modern Link Hofman Bush (LHB) racks marking a significant step towards enhancing passenger facilities. The introduction of these LHB design coaches complete with a power-cum-guard van and pantry car reflects the Indian Railways commitment to passenger comfort and safety.

Tripura Chief Minister Professor (Dr.) Manik Saha inaugurated the upgraded express train and highlighted the positive impact on passenger experience. The addition of LHB racks is expected to not only accommodate more passengers in the general class but also ensure a secure and comfortable journey.

The newly modified express train departs from Agartala traversing through key stations such as Teliamura, Ambasa, Dharmanagar, Badarpur Junction, New Haflong, Lamding Junction, Chaparmukh, Guwahati, Kamakhya, Rangia, New Bangaigaon, New Cooch Behar, New Jalpaiguri Junction, Katihar, Naugachia, Munger, Bhagalpur Junction, and Banka before reaching Deoghar.

Prof. Manik Saha expressed gratitude for the efforts of Prime Minister Narendra Modi highlighting that the state now operates 13 express trains and 5 local trains. In a notable development in November 2023, both Prime Ministers inaugurated the trial run of goods trains on the Agartala-Akhaura railway in virtual mode symbolizing strengthened ties between India and Bangladesh.

The Union Ministry of Railways has allocated Rs 97 crore for the modernization of three stations in the state – Dharmanagar, Kumarghat, and Udaipur – as part of the Amrit Bharat Station Project. Additionally, Agartala railway station is undergoing modernization at a cost of 235 crore.

This strategic investment in railway infrastructure aligns with the government's vision to provide state-of-the-art facilities and services ensuring a seamless and enjoyable travel experience for passengers.
