Haryana and Jammu & Kashmir Election Results Announced
The voting for state assembly elections in Jammu-Kashmir and Haryana has ended, and the counting of votes is now complete. Haryana polled on October 5th, while Jammu and Kashmir polled in three phases on September 18th, 25th, and October 1st.
The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) has won the majority in Haryana, securing 48 out of 90 seats. This marks BJP's third consecutive term in the state. The party won 48 seats, followed by Congress with 37, Indian National Lok Dal with 2, and independents with 3.
Notable winners in Haryana include Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini, who won from Ladwa seat by 16,000 votes, Anil Vij from Ambala Cantt seat, Bhupinder Singh Hooda from Garhi Sampla Kiloi seat with 71,000 votes, and Vinesh Phogat from Julana constituency.
In Jammu and Kashmir, the National Conference and Congress alliance has emerged victorious, securing 48 seats. The National Conference won 42 seats, while Congress secured 6. Other winners include Omar Abdullah from Budgam and Ganderbal constituencies, Peerzada Mohammad Syed from Anantnag seat, Sajjad Gani Lone from Handwara, and Mohammed Yousuf Tarigami from Kulgam Assembly constituency.
