New Delhi, The All India Football Federation's women's committee chief Valanka Alemao has demanded answers for the series of blunders during the national team's Asian Cup campaign in Australia.

Alemao alleged that procedural lapses by the body's technical committee resulted in ill-fitting jerseys, among other issues, that marred the team's performance.

The team started off with a gutsy show against Vietnam but their performance dipped subsequently as they were outplayed by Japan and Chinese Taipei.

Alemao demanded action against the officials responsible for the huge embarrassment to the country and urged the AIFF President to convene an Executive Committee meeting to discuss the issues.

She also questioned the appointment of Amelia Valverde as the head coach and the outsourcing of arrangements for the team.

Alemao alleged that the appointment of Valverde was done without following the due process and that the team was made to play against mediocre club sides in the run-up to the main tournament.

The AIFF Women's Committee chief also raised the issue of ill-fitting kits and demanded that those responsible must be held accountable.
