The Asian Tour has reaffirmed its commitment to returning to India in the near future, aiming to provide young Indian golfers with a pathway to the international stage.

Commissioner & CEO Cho Minn Thant said the tour is working to increase its presence in India, with plans to co-sanction events with the Indian Golf Tour (IGPL) and potentially host 1-2 events annually.

The Bharath Classic, which was held in Ahmedabad last year, will be moved to Morocco this season due to scheduling conflicts, but the tour is open to hosting events in India in the future.

The Asian Tour is also concerned about the impact of LIV Golf on the golf landscape, but is confident that the International Series will continue to grow and attract its own sponsors.

With a strong domestic golf scene in India, the tour is optimistic about the country's future in golf and hopes to re-establish pathways with other global tours, including the DP World Tour and PGA Tour.
