Former Ohio State safety Caleb Downs was drafted by the Dallas Cowboys in the first round of the 2026 NFL Draft with the 12th overall pick.
In a post-draft interview, Caleb Downs expressed his gratitude and said he felt 'so blessed' and 'so honored' to be picked by the Cowboys.
He shared an emotional moment with his brother, saying, 'I'm so proud of you,' to which his brother replied, 'I'm proud of you, too.'
Caleb's mother and father were also present to witness the moment and expressed their pride in their son.
Caleb's father said he was 'speechless' and that he had 'watched him grow from a little kid playing in the backyard to this moment.'
Caleb also spoke about wanting to make his brother proud, saying, 'I wanted to prove to him that all the sacrifices were worth it.'
He emphasized his commitment to the game, saying, 'I'm ready to get to work and show what I can do in Dallas.'
