Chhattisgarh Hosts Historic Tribal Games, 3,800 Athletes to Compete

Raipur will host the first Khelo India Tribal Games from Wednesday, featuring 3,800 athletes from across the country competing in nine sports disciplines.
Chhattisgarh Deputy Chief Minister Arun Sao described the event as a 'milestone' in Indian sporting history, providing a major boost to the state's sports ecosystem and infrastructure.
The inaugural ceremony will be held at the Science College Ground in Raipur on Wednesday evening, with Union Sports and Youth Affairs Minister Mansukh Mandaviya attending as chief guest.
The games will feature competitions in archery, athletics, football, hockey, swimming, weightlifting, and wrestling, with mallakhamb and kabaddi showcased as demonstration sports.
Competition venues include Raipur, Jagdalpur, and Surguja cities, with the games concluding on April 3 and 106 gold medals up for grabs.
