A Detroit Lions fan, Ryan Kennedy, is speaking out after being punched by Pittsburgh Steelers wide receiver DK Metcalf during a Week 16 altercation. Kennedy, who has been a season-ticket holder for 15 years, is denying allegations that he used racial slurs toward Metcalf. In a press conference with his attorneys, Kennedy urged Metcalf to confirm that no racial slurs were directed at him, saying it would help alleviate the threats his family has been receiving online. Kennedy's attorney, Shawn Head, added that the fan and his family have faced harassment and negative online reviews since the incident. Metcalf was suspended for two games after the altercation, which occurred on December 21, 2025, at Ford Field. The incident began after Kennedy allegedly used Metcalf's full name, leading to the Steelers player grabbing his shirt and throwing a closed-fist punch or swipe at his head. Metcalf initially claimed he heard racial slurs, but Kennedy and his family are now asking for the truth to come out.
