The International Mind Sports Association (IMSA) has invited bids from India and around the world to host the next World Mind Games, scheduled for later this year or early 2027.

The IMSA has expressed interest in partnering with India, particularly in Chess and other mind sports, following the success of Indian players in the global circuit.

With Chess being the most played game in the world of mind sports, IMSA aims to make it the most popular sport, alongside e-sports and other mind games popular in India.

India has a huge market, with around $300 million already invested in e-sports, and thanks to its young guns, Chess is gaining corporate interest.

IMSA plans to invest heavily to build a great society and culture, with a goal of making Chess available to 500 million Indians in the next few years.

The presence of FIDE president Arkady Dvorkovich as IMSA president could be a major boost, given his eight years of experience and successful organization of the FIFA World Cup in Russia.
