Lakers star Luka Doncic has opted for a $20,000 treatment in Spain to speed up his recovery from a Grade 2 hamstring injury, which could cut his recovery time in half.

The 27-year-old suffered the injury in a 43-point loss to the Oklahoma City Thunder and was initially ruled out for the rest of the regular season, with his availability for the playoffs highly doubtful.

However, Doncic has selected Spain for his treatment, which includes biologic injections such as platelet-rich plasma (PRP) and stem cell injections to accelerate the healing of injured tissue.

Medical specialists believe that the treatment could be a worthwhile investment based on the playoff stakes, and Doncic's agent, Bill Duffy, has stated that his client has an incentive to make a comeback in the playoffs.

Coach JJ Redick has also expressed his support for Doncic and fellow injured Laker Austin Reaves, who is out with a Grade 2 left oblique injury, stating that they will attempt to make it back to the team.

The NBA playoffs are set to begin on April 18, and the clock is ticking for Doncic to make a comeback.
