Luka Doncic's late-season momentum with the Los Angeles Lakers has taken a serious hit, as he's been ruled out indefinitely following a left hamstring injury.
According to ESPN's Shams Charania, the star guard will, at minimum, miss the remainder of the regular season after undergoing an MRI on Friday.
He has been diagnosed with a Grade 2 hamstring strain, which typically requires multiple weeks of recovery, putting his postseason availability into question.
The Lakers currently sit at 50-27, holding the No. 3 seed in the Western Conference as they prepare for the playoffs.
Doncic's agent, Bill Duffy of WME Basketball, has issued a statement, saying they intend to apply for an "Extraordinary Circumstances Challenge" to the 65-game rule to ensure Doncic's record-breaking season is noted in the history books.
