Brandon Clarke, a forward for the Memphis Grizzlies, was arrested and booked in Arkansas on April 1. According to reports, Clarke faces multiple charges, including trafficking and possession of a controlled substance, fleeing in a vehicle while exceeding the speed limit, and improper passing.
The Cross County Sheriff's Office is handling the case, but declined to provide further details. Memphis Grizzlies head coach Tuomas Iisalo was aware of the situation but declined to comment.
Clarke is presumed innocent unless proven guilty or he enters a plea. The charges remain allegations, and a lot can happen between now and the resolution of the case.
Clarke has played only two games in this season due to injuries, including a knee issue that required surgery last season and a right calf strain this year. He was the No. 21 overall pick in the 2019 NBA Draft and is among the longest-tenured players on the Grizzlies roster.
