In a historic encounter, cricket icon Sachin Tendulkar and football superstar Lionel Messi came face-to-face at the iconic Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai on Sunday. As part of his India tour, Messi arrived at the stadium in the evening, where he was greeted by Tendulkar, along with Luis Suarez and Rodrigo De Paul. Before meeting the Indian legend, Messi engaged with former India football captain Sunil Chhetri and Maharashtra's Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis. The two icons then exchanged gifts, with Tendulkar presenting Messi with his iconic No. 10 ODI jersey and Messi giving Tendulkar a World Cup ball. In a heartfelt message, Tendulkar praised Messi's humility and dedication, saying, "We really admire his dedication, determination, commitment, and above all, he's loved so much because of his humility, the person that he is." Tendulkar also wished Messi and his family the best of health and happiness on behalf of the people of Mumbai and India. Messi's India tour has already taken him to Kolkata, Hyderabad, and Mumbai, and will conclude on Monday, December 15, in Delhi.
