Kansas City Chiefs wide receiver Rashee Rice will miss the rest of the season due to a concussion and a lingering suspension. Initially placed on injured reserve (IR) on Wednesday, Rice had played in just eight games this season. His season was marked by a six-game suspension, which was a result of a high-profile car crash in March 2024 that left multiple people injured. This led to Rice pleading guilty to two third-degree felony charges and receiving deferred adjudication. Rice, 25, had a notable performance in the games he played, catching 53 passes for 571 yards and five touchdowns. Over three seasons with the Chiefs, he has accumulated 156 receptions for 1,797 yards and 14 scores in 28 regular-season games. This season, he also caught six passes for 39 yards in the Chiefs' Super Bowl 58 win over San Francisco. The Chiefs have had a number of injuries to key players, including receiver Tyquan Thornton and cornerbacks Trent McDuffie and Jaylen Watson, all of whom were also placed on IR on Wednesday. Tight end Jake Briningstool is out, while tackle Jaylon Moore and defensive tackle Derrick Nnadi are questionable. Fourth-year quarterback Chris Oladokun will make his first start against the Denver Broncos, as Patrick Mahomes and Gardner Minshew are out for the season.
