The Gamecocks' impressive performance marked their eighth win by at least 40 points this season. The game began with FGCU taking an early 9-5 lead, but South Carolina quickly responded with a 15-0 run, setting the tone for the rest of the match. The Gamecocks took a commanding 20-11 lead at the end of the first quarter and never looked back, extending their lead to 53-21 at halftime and 79-31 after three quarters. South Carolina's shooting was almost flawless, with the team sinking 63% of their field goals. They also outrebounded FGCU 51-18 and dominated in the paint, scoring 74 points to the Eagles' 10. Cerina Rolle led FGCU with 10 points, while Sinai Douglas added 14. The loss for FGCU comes after the team had already made a statement with their earlier win over Stanford.
