Doral saw a dramatic shift in fortunes for Indian golfers on the second day of the Cadillac Championship. Akshay Bhatia slipped to tied 26th after a double bogey on his closing hole, while Sudarshan Yellamaraju held on to a tied 16th spot despite dropping three shots in the final two holes. Sahith Theegala, on the other hand, struggled with a 76, finishing T-48th.
Yellamaraju was 9-under through 16 holes before his late collapse, while Bhatia had a rollercoaster round with six birdies, four bogeys, and a double bogey in his even par 72. Theegala, supported by Hero, had just one birdie against three bogeys and a double bogey.
Cameron Young continued to lead the pack, shooting a 5-under 67 to get to 13 under and take a five-shot lead at the midway point of the USD 20 million Signature Event at Trump National Doral. Young's lone blemish was a bogey at the par-4 14th, while Scottie Scheffler had a bogey-free 67 but remained seven shots off the lead.
