A shocking tragedy has shaken the sports world in Haryana after two teenage basketball players lost their lives in separate incidents. Hardik Rathi, a 16-year-old national-level player, was killed when a basketball pole fell on him during a routine practice session at a court in Lakhan Majra. The incident, captured on CCTV footage, shows the pole uprooting and crushing Hardik under its weight. This is not an isolated incident. Just a few days ago, a 15-year-old basketball player, Aman, died in a similar accident in Bahadurgarh district. The incidents have raised concerns about the state of sports infrastructure in Haryana, which is known for producing top-notch athletes. Former Indian National Basketball Team member Narender Kumar Grewal expressed his shock at the incidents, saying, "We have top-quality manufacturers in India, but sometimes at local courts, we compromise due to financial limitations. We need to ensure that we are not installing low-quality equipment.
