Alabama quarterback Ty Simpson was a top target for the New York Jets ahead of the 2026 NFL draft, but a new suitor has emerged as the frontrunner for his services.
The Arizona Cardinals have reportedly conducted a mock session with Simpson and are now considered the most likely destination for the 23-year-old quarterback.
Simpson had been closely tied to the Jets, who had conducted a private workout and in-person meetings with him as part of their scouting effort.
However, ESPN's Jeremy Fowler reported on Monday that Simpson is likely headed to the NFC West, with the Cardinals being his most likely destination.
Other draft analysts, including Todd McShay, have also expressed similar views, with McShay stating that the Cardinals 'absolutely dig' Simpson and want him.
The Cardinals will either hope that Simpson is available with their second-round pick (No. 34 overall) or will hope to execute a first-round trade exchange with the New York Giants.
