Gonda: Wrestler Vinesh Phogat has refused to back down, alleging that the Wrestling Federation of India (WFI) wants her to quit the sport. She was declared ineligible to compete in the National Open Ranking tournament but insists she's eligible to participate.
Vinesh, a two-time World Championships medallist, claims she's being punished for speaking out against WFI officials. She's questioning the language used against her and feels unsafe despite representing the country at the highest level.
The WFI had issued a strongly worded show-cause notice to Vinesh, accusing her of indiscipline, breach of federation rules, and anti-doping related procedural violations.
Vinesh plans to continue wrestling, saying she has the right to fight and speak out against the federation. She's working hard and has the strength to overcome the challenges.
