The 43rd Foundation Day of the Tripura Tribal Areas Autonomous District Council (TTAADC), also observed as Sixth Schedule Day, was commemorated with various programmes at the TTAADC Headquarters in Khumulwng on Sunday.
The observance began with a grand rally, followed by floral tributes to the leaders and visionaries who fought for the establishment and strengthening of the TTAADC. The programme was attended by the Chief Executive Member (CEM) Runiel Debbarma, former CEMs Purna Chandra Jamatia, MLAs, MDCs, social workers and other dignitaries.

On the occasion, the Sixth Schedule Day was also observed as Tipraland Statehood Demand Day in Tripura. The programme was organised by the Indigenous Peoples' Front of Tripura (IPFT) along with its allied organisations.
Speakers at the programme reiterated the demand for Tipraland, describing it as a solution to the political, social, cultural and developmental concerns of the indigenous Borok people. The central message of the programme was reflected in the motto: “Our Land, Our Right, Our Identity.”
Tripura Minister Sukla Charan Noatia also attended the programme along with other dignitaries and community representatives. Leaders and participants highlighted the importance of protecting indigenous identity, land rights, culture and political aspirations.
The observance brought together representatives from different sections of society to remember the history of the TTAADC and reaffirm their commitment to the rights, identity and development of indigenous communities in Tripura.
