Pakistan's Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi revealed that two suicide bombings in the country this week were carried out by Afghan nationals. The attacks, which occurred in Islamabad and South Waziristan, resulted in the deaths of 15 people and injured 30 others. The bombings, which took place on Tuesday and Monday respectively, were part of a long-standing issue between Pakistan and Afghanistan. Relations between the two countries have been strained in recent years, with Islamabad accusing militants from Afghanistan of staging attacks inside Pakistan. The first bombing occurred outside a lower court in Islamabad, where a suicide bomber detonated explosives close to a police patrol, killing 12 people and injuring 27. In the second incident, a bomber drove an explosive-laden vehicle into the main gate of a military school in South Waziristan, killing three people. The militants then entered the school, triggering a prolonged gun battle with Pakistani soldiers. This latest development adds to the already tense relations between Pakistan and Afghanistan, with both countries accusing each other of sheltering militants. In a recent border clash, dozens of soldiers were killed, further straining the relationship between the two nations. The Afghan government has denied giving safe haven to militants to attack Pakistan, while Islamabad continues to accuse its neighbor of providing shelter to militants.
