Inqilab Moncho, a Bangladesh-based platform, has given the interim government a 24-day deadline to complete the trial of Sharif Osman Hadi, a party leader who was gunned down in December. Hadi's death occurred a day after the Election Commission announced the date for the next general elections. The organisation, which has been holding protests and blockades across the country, is demanding justice for Hadi's murder. They have called for the trial of the entire murder case, including the killer, mastermind, accomplices, and those who aided the escape, to be completed within the next 24 days. This ultimatum comes as the Dhaka metropolitan police claimed that two main suspects in Hadi's killing fled to India through the Haluaghat border. However, the Meghalaya Police and the Border Security Force (Meghalaya Frontier) have denied these claims, stating that there is no evidence of the suspects crossing the international border into Meghalaya. Inqilab Moncho's protests have continued, with leaders and supporters holding a blockade at Dhaka's Shahbagh intersection on Sunday. The organisation's demands for justice in Hadi's murder case remain a pressing issue in Bangladesh's current political climate.
