Tragedy struck on Christmas Eve when beloved social media influencer dog Raffie suffered a heart attack and passed away at a dog daycare facility in Austria. According to his owner Maren Peeters, Raffie's best friend Odin, also a bulldog, jumped into action to protect him, but suffered severe injuries in the process. In a heart-wrenching social media post, Peeters revealed that Odin is currently fighting for his life at an animal hospital, with treatment costs estimated at €5,000. A GoFundMe has been launched to help cover the expenses, with donations pouring in to support the brave canine. The incident unfolded when Peeters received a call from the dog daycare facility, where Raffie was staying with his siblings. The staff reported that another dog, Pickles, was attempting to attack Raffie. Odin intervened, but unfortunately, Raffie collapsed and died from a heart attack. In a tearful video address, Peeters remembered the events: 'The owner of the daycare immediately did CPR on Raffie, but unfortunately, he was gone. Pickles wanted to attack further, so Odin stepped in and tried to save his best friend's life.' The GoFundMe page for Odin describes the bulldog's heroic actions: 'Odin risked his life to protect Raffie, and now he needs our help to survive.' Donations will go directly towards Odin's medical care, and every contribution counts in helping this brave dog recover from his severe injuries. As the community rallies around Odin, Peeters' social media followers are sending their love and support to the family, remembering Raffie's bravery and Odin's selfless act of protection. The outpouring of kindness is a testament to the special bond between humans and animals, and the enduring power of love and loyalty.
