Candace Owens Slams Ben Shapiro Over Charlie Kirk Shooting Fallout, Denies Accusing Erika Kirk

Candace Owens, a former Turning Point USA member, has clashed with conservative commentator Ben Shapiro over the aftermath of Charlie Kirk's assassination. In a statement on X, Owens accused Shapiro of 'lying through his teeth' after he claimed she had accused Erika Kirk, Charlie's wife, of his murder. Owens denied making such a statement and challenged Shapiro to appear on her show to address the issue. Shapiro had made the claim on The Megyn Kelly show, suggesting that Owens' actions were 'evil' and that she had made a serious accusation against Erika Kirk. Owens, however, pointed out that she had not directly accused Erika Kirk of the crime, but had raised conspiracy theories about the assassination, including alleged Israeli involvement and a possible cover-up by Turning Point USA. Erika Kirk, the current CEO of Turning Point USA, had previously spoken out about the conspiracy theories surrounding her husband's death, urging people to be mindful of their online posts and to show 'some grace.' Charlie Kirk, the 31-year-old founder of TPUSA, was fatally shot at a Utah Valley University event on September 10. Tyler Robinson, a 22-year-old Utah native, has been arrested and charged with murder in connection with the case, and could face the death penalty if convicted.
