A thick blanket of fog swept across the United Arab Emirates, reducing visibility to near zero in several areas. The National Center of Meteorology (NCM) issued red and yellow alerts, warning residents of hazardous conditions. Social media was flooded with photos and videos of the sudden weather change, with many joking that the Burj Khalifa, the world's tallest building, had vanished. Residents in Dubai and Abu Dhabi took to social media to share their experiences, with some expressing concern about the low visibility and others marveling at the eerie atmosphere. The Dubai Police and Abu Dhabi Police issued warnings, urging motorists to drive safely and cautiously due to the fog. The NCM reported that fog had covered areas such as Sharjah's Al Qarayen, Abu Dhabi's Zayed International Airport, and Dubai's Al Lisaili and Al Qudra. As the fog persisted, residents were advised to stay warm, drive safely, and follow changing speed limits displayed on electronic information boards. Despite the challenges posed by the fog, residents were also quick to appreciate the unique beauty of the weather. One resident tweeted, 'Winter's first whisper... wrapped in fog so thick it feels like the world paused to breathe.' Another joked, 'Dubai aaj Dilli ho rakha hai,' roughly translating to 'Dubai has become Delhi today.'
