US President Donald Trump's past friendship with convicted sex offender Jeffrey Epstein has raised more questions, according to a series of bombshell emails released by the House Oversight Committee. The emails, which date back to 2011, suggest that Trump spent hours at Epstein's home with a sex trafficking victim. In one email, Epstein wrote to Ghislaine Maxwell, his longtime associate and a convicted sex trafficker, that Trump 'spent hours at my house' with the victim, whom Democrats have identified. Epstein also claimed that Trump 'knew about the girls' and had asked Maxwell to stop. The White House has accused Democrats of pushing a 'fake narrative' and selectively leaking the emails to create a smear campaign against Trump. However, the emails add to existing concerns about Trump's past relationship with Epstein and whether he knew about the financier's abuse of underage girls. Epstein died by suicide in 2019 while awaiting trial on federal sex trafficking charges. Maxwell is currently serving a 20-year prison sentence for her role in recruiting and grooming young girls for Epstein. The controversy comes as Trump has repeatedly denied any involvement in Epstein's sex trafficking activities and claimed to have cut ties with him years before his arrest. The White House has not commented further on the matter.
