A former Congressional aide for Republican representative Jeff Van Drew has been accused of staging a violent attack on herself, with shocking details emerging in the case. Natalie Greene, 26, from Ocean City, New Jersey, was charged by the Justice Department with conspiracy and making false statements to law enforcement. According to the charges, Greene hired a body modification artist to create lacerations on her body, which she claimed were inflicted by attackers. The alleged attack also included the phrases 'TRUMP WHORE' on her stomach and '[Federal Official 1] IS RACIST' on her back. An investigation revealed that Greene had planned the attack with a co-conspirator, who had looked up 'zip ties near me' on their phone before the incident. On July 23, 2025, the co-conspirator called 911, claiming that they had been attacked in Egg Harbor Township. Police found Greene with her hands and feet zip-tied and reported that one of the attackers had threatened to shoot her. However, further investigation showed that the incident was staged, and Greene could face up to five years in prison, a $250,000 fine, and three years of supervised release for conspiracy. She could also face an additional five years in prison, a $250,000 fine, and three years of supervised release for making false statements to law enforcement.
