FBI Foils New Year's Eve Bomb Plot in LA, Arrests 5 Linked to Pro-Palestinian Group
FBI has thwarted New Year’s Eve bomb plot in Los Angeles, arresting four linked to pro-Palestinian group Turtle Island Liberation Front.
In a major security breach, the FBI has foiled a terror bomb plot intended for New Year's Eve in Los Angeles, arresting five individuals associated with a pro-Palestinian group known as the Turtle Island Liberation Front (TILF). The group, characterized as anti-law enforcement and anti-capitalist, was reportedly planning IED bombings at five distinct locations throughout the city.
According to FBI Director Kash Patel, the individuals in the group were disrupted over the weekend, and four of them were arrested in the Los Angeles area. The suspects, identified as Audrey Carroll, 30, Zachary Aaron Page, 32, Dante Garfield, 24, and Tina Lai, 41, all hail from the Los Angeles area and are charged with conspiracy and possession of an unregistered destructive device.
An additional individual was arrested in New Orleans, believed to be linked to the radical TILF subgroup, which allegedly planned a separate violent attack. The Attorney General, Pam Bondi, noted that the group's intentions were to target multiple locations in California, including ICE agents and vehicles, beginning on New Year's Eve.
The Turtle Island Liberation Front is described as a far-left, pro-Palestinian organization with anti-government and anti-capitalist ideologies. The group's bomb plot included step-by-step instructions to build IEDs and listed multiple targets across Orange County and Los Angeles. The FBI will continue to review evidence and file additional charges in the coming weeks.
