JD Vance Vows Support for ICE Officers Amid Minneapolis Shooting, Warns 'Radicals' Behind Threats
Vice President JD Vance expressed support for ICE following a fatal shooting incident in Minneapolis, where a woman was killed.
US Vice President JD Vance expressed his solidarity with Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) officers on Wednesday, following a fatal shooting in Minneapolis. The incident involved a 37-year-old woman, Renee Nicole Good, who was killed during a traffic stop. Good, a US citizen and mother of a 6-year-old child, was identified by the Minneapolis City Council.
According to eyewitnesses, ICE agents blocked medical help after the shooting, which occurred near East 34th Street and Portland Avenue. Videos show agents surrounding a vehicle that had stopped in the middle of the road, with one officer drawing a firearm and firing at the car. It's unclear if the agent was struck, but he remained standing.
In response to the incident, Vice President Vance took to social media to address the situation. He wrote, 'I want every ICE officer to know that their president, vice president, and the administration stand behind them.' Vance also warned 'radicals' who are doxxing and threatening ICE officers, stating that the administration will work harder to enforce the law.
The Minneapolis shooting has sparked concerns and outrage, with the city council condemning the incident. The fatal shooting occurred just a mile away from the intersection where George Floyd was killed by police in 2020. The incident has raised questions about the use of force by ICE officers and the need for accountability.
