Renowned band leader and TV personality Jimmy Kimmel's best friend, Cleto Escobedo III, has passed away at the age of 59. According to TMZ, which obtained a copy of his death certificate, Cleto died from cardiogenic shock, a rare condition where the heart fails to pump enough blood throughout the body. The underlying causes of death were listed as alcoholic cirrhosis of the liver, disseminated intravascular coagulation, vasodilatory shock, pneumonia, chronic renal disease, immunosuppression, graft versus host disease, and sepsis. Jimmy Kimmel, who mourned the loss of his friend on his show, revealed that the two had grown up together in Las Vegas. Kimmel described Cleto as the 'nicest, most humble, kind, and always funny person' he had ever known. In tribute to his friend, Kimmel launched two fundraising efforts: one to support the UCLA Medical Center, where Cleto had received care, and the other to honor his love of animals, through the Animal Foundation in Las Vegas. Cleto's father, Cleto Escobedo Sr., paid a heartfelt tribute to his son by performing with the band during the episode of Jimmy Kimmel Live! that aired Tuesday night, while Cleto's mother was present in the studio audience. As Kimmel remembered his friend, he praised Cleto's kindness and generosity, saying that he was 'much too young' to have left this world. The outpouring of love and support for Cleto Escobedo III is a testament to the lasting impact he had on those around him, and the memories he leaves behind will be cherished by all who knew him.
