A wave of Russian drone attacks on Kyiv in the early hours of Friday left a trail of destruction and loss of life. At least four people were killed, and 19 others injured, with 14 of them receiving hospital treatment, according to Ukrainian officials. The strikes, which began shortly before midnight, targeted various parts of the city, including residential areas and critical infrastructure. The attack resulted in major damage to apartment buildings, with one entire entrance destroyed and a high-rise building badly damaged in a central district. An emergency medic was among those killed, who had arrived at a suburban apartment hit by two drones in succession. Four members of the same crew were injured in the incident. Mayor Vitali Klitschko reported that the attack caused disruptions to the water supply in some districts and triggered fires in several city districts. One drone ignited a fire in a shopping centre, while another fell outside a medical facility. The city remained under an air alert for five hours. In a separate incident, Russian forces launched a drone attack on an infrastructure target in western Ukraine's Lviv region, officials confirmed. The ongoing conflict has left widespread destruction and loss of life in its wake.
