Emergency responders rushed to Lancaster Airport in Pennsylvania's Lancaster County on Thursday after reports of a plane crash. However, upon arrival, crews found that a small ultralight aircraft had suffered damage during maintenance. The incident occurred around 10:25 am near the Sheetz on Route 501, where the aircraft, also known as a trike, had flipped over onto the grass while being moved out of a hangar. The pilot, who was in the aircraft at the time, was taken to Lancaster General Airport for treatment, but his condition remains unknown. According to reports, the pilot had been working on the craft in the hangar before moving it to the runway, where strong winds gusting up to 15 knots likely caused the aircraft to be tossed. The incident sparked concern among locals, with many expressing surprise at the pilot's decision to fly an ultralight in windy conditions. As one social media user noted, 'It's kinda windy, maybe ultralights shouldn't be flying.' An investigation into the incident is ongoing.
