R&B singer Akon, known for his hit song 'Locked Up,' was arrested on November 7 in DeKalb County, Georgia. The 52-year-old's mugshot has since gone viral on social media. According to court documents, Akon was taken into custody due to a bench warrant issued for failure to appear in a suspended license case. The incident dates back to September when Akon was reportedly driving a Tesla Cybertruck in Georgia. Cops on patrol found the vehicle stranded in the middle of the road, and upon investigation, discovered that Akon's license had been suspended since January 2023. He was issued a citation at the time for driving while his license was suspended. Akon was arrested by the Chamblee Police Department on an out-of-county warrant and booked into jail for six hours before being released. The reason for the original arrest warrant remains unclear.
