A horrific incident unfolded in Japan on Friday when a man armed with a knife attacked people at a rubber factory in central Japan, leaving 14 injured. The attacker also sprayed an unknown liquid, causing further chaos. According to emergency services, the man was detained at the scene on suspicion of murder.
The incident occurred in Mishima, Shizuoka prefecture, west of Tokyo, at around 4:30 pm local time. At least six of the victims were rushed to the hospital in ambulances. Tomoharu Sugiyama, a firefighting department official, confirmed that the injured were conscious and being transported by emergency services.
Details about the attacker and the condition of the victims are still unclear. However, Japanese media, including public broadcaster NHK, reported that the injured were in a stable condition. The investigation into the incident is ongoing.
